A true jewel of the French wine culture, Champagne is one of the most famous French wine areas in the world. A luxury product, as evidenced by the takeover of one of its largest estates by LVMH group, the value of champagne wine growing operations has constantly increased since 1991, rising from ** euros per hectare to **** euros in 2023.Â

In correlation with the market, the average selling price of champagne bottles has increased in recent years among retailers in France. Within the most important champagne producers, Moët-Hennessy stands out and is at the top of the podium.
But Champagne winegrowers are not the only ones to benefit from the world’s enthusiasm for sparkling wines. In 2020, the Italian Prosecco winegrowers produced the largest volume of sparkling wine, with million units sold. Appearing in the second position, Champagne producers reached * million bottles sold that same year.
