Data are collected on the emissions of the following pollutants: Carbon dioxide without emissions from biomass (CO₂), Carbon dioxide from biomass (Biomass CO₂)*, Nitroux oxide (N₂O), Methane (CH₄), Perfluorocarbons (PFCs), Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), Sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆) including nitrogen trifluoride (NF₃), Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Non-methane volatile organic compounds, (NMVOC), Carbon monoxide (CO), Particulate matter < 10μm (PM10), Particulate matter < 2,5μm (PM2,5), Sulphur dioxide (SO₂), Ammonia (NH₃)

*CO₂ emissions from biomass combustion are treated as a separate substance.

Citation formats

Over the observed years, Slovenia and Croatia recorded the lowest greenhouse gas emissions among the shown Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries, while Poland had by far the highest emissions. In 2024, the volume of GHG emissions in Poland totaled 306 million metric tons, marking a decrease compared to the previous year.
