According to a survey conducted in China in early 2024, ** percent of respondents said that buying food for Chinese New Year's Eve dinner as well as buying presents for family and friends were the main tasks they had to take care of when preparing for the Chinese New Year every year. A large proportion, ** percent, also mentioned preparation of the "red envelopes", traditional money gifts given mostly to children during the Spring Festival in China.
