Among selected European countries, smoking/inhaling was the main administration route for all clients who were treated for heroin for the first time between 2013 and 2022. The highest rate was observed in 2022, with over ** percent of first-time treated clients consuming heroin smoking. Conversely, injection as the main method of administration had decreased to more than half of its value from 2013, representing only ** percent of all first-time treated clients in 2022.
