Canada's electricity production by electric utilities and industries has increased over the past decades. It amounted to over *** terawatt-hours in 2022, up from approximately *** at the beginning of the period. In 2022, hydropower was by far the largest source of electricity in the country and accounted for roughly ** percent of the total electric power production.
