In 2025, the number of credit cards issued in Romania fell by more than 1.2 percent in the second half of the year. The number of credit cards in the first half of the year stood at 2.9 million, which increased to 2.98 million in the later half of the year. The ratio of credit cards per million individuals also rose slightly from 0.15 to 0.16.
