Prize money constituted the majority of the distributed money by the Confédération Africaine De Football (CAF). In 2022, close to 49.2 million U.S. dollars were distributed to the teams participating in the various CAF tournaments as prize money. This represented almost 75 percent of the total amount. The remaining 16.54 million U.S. dollars went as shares to the host countries.
