Acinetobacter species are bacteria causing healthcare-associated infections, such as pneumonia associated with the use of a ventilator, central line-associated bloodstream infections, and postoperative wound infections.
All EU Member States and two EEA countries (Island and Norway) reported data from invasive isolates, except for UK in 2020 and 2021. Roughly 76 percent of the participating countries had a high national representativeness, in terms of covered geographic areas, included acute care hospitals, and microorganisms causing infections.
*The aminoglycoside group includes only gentamicin and tobramycin from 2020 onwards.
