This statistic displays the knowledge of respondents regarding the effective use of antibiotics in England, according to a survey conducted in early 2020, by medical condition. A large majority, over 80 percent of respondents, knew correctly that only bacterial infections can be effectively treated with antibiotics. However, more than a third of the surveyed falsely stated that antibiotics can also treat viral infections.
