According to the Integrated National Plan of Energy and Climate (PNIEC) Italy plans to consume ** percent of renewable energy in its electricity sector by 2030. In 2022, the share of renewable energy consumed out of the total electricity amounted to ** percent. In terms of gross final energy consumption, Italy's renewable energy share is projected to increase from ** percent in 2022 to ** percent in 2030.
