The source states the following regarding methodology and findings: "The data in the report is based on a survey commissioned by the Foundation in July of 2022. The survey was conducted telephonically amongst a sample of 3 204 randomly selected and demographically and regionally representative registered voters and has an overall margin of error of 1.7%. Whilst the data was collected from registered voters it can with a degree of confidence be extrapolated to the broader adult population of South Africa. Figures may not add up to 100% as respondents who failed to provide answers have been excluded".

As of 2022, around ** percent of registered voters who attained an education level of university and higher, were considering emigrating from South Africa. Among those respondents who had no schooling, 100 percent stated that they did not consider emigrating.
