According to a global study held in 2023, most consumers in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany were attempting to change the news they see via algorithms in a bid to access more reliable content and see more diverse perspectives. Toxic content also played a role, particularly in the UK and U.S., where more than 30 percent of respondents were trying to evade it.
