In 2022, according to a survey, Britain and Spain had the highest proportion of people, among other European countries, who walked as their main means of transportation for a one-mile distance, at a rate of ** and ** percent, respectively. The Netherlands had the lowest share of people who walked for short distances of about one mile, at a rate of ** percent.
