According to the Federal Statistical Office, the house price index records the average price development of all typical market transactions for residential real estate (owner-occupied apartments as well as single-family and duplexes), which are sold or acquired as a 鈥減ackage鈥 consisting of the land and building. This includes the acquisition of both newly built and existing residential real estate, independent of the seller and purpose.
