According to this 2021 survey, emotional exhaustion, a clear manifestion of burnout, is common among American physicians. That year, **** percent of surveyed doctors had a high emotional exhaustion score and a further ** percent, an intermediate score. In other words, around ** percent of physicians are somewhat emotionally exhausted. On the other hand, a * of responding physicians in the United States scored low on the emotional exhaustion scale.
