The share of newly diagnosed cancer patients who died within one year in Russia has followed a downward trend, standing at approximately 18 percent in 2023. In other words, less than a fifth of the patients who received their first cancer diagnosis in 2022 deceased the following year. Pancreas and liver cancer had the highest one-year mortality rate in Russia.
