- An analysis of more than 300,000 reports submitted to BBB Scam Tracker between 2015 and 2022.
- A survey conducted in July 2022 with almost 3,000 people who reported a scam in the last 12 months.

According to a global study conducted in 2022, individuals between the ages of ** and ** reported the highest susceptibility to online purchase scams, with more than ** percent of victims losing money. However, the survey also found that individuals aged 55 and above were less likely to be scammed, with less than **** reporting a financial loss.
