Syria followed behind with over billion U.S. dollars. Humanitarian aid is aimed at reducing a humanitarian crisis or to prevent one from unfolding. Other countries on this list, who are experiencing many forms of humanitarian crises, include Yemen, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.Â
