The 2020 survey year is also affected by survey restrictions and should therefore not be used for time comparisons with subsequent years.

In 2024, around **** percent of people in East Germany were at risk of living in poverty and in West Germany there were **** percent. For West Germany this was one of the highest figures seen since 2005.
