Figures from 2000 until 2010 have been taken from "The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture 2012" published by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the Unites Nations (FAO). Figures since 2015 have been taken from annual publications of the China fishing industry statistical bulletin.
In 2024, the total gross tonnage of motorized and unmotorized fishing vessels in the fishing industry in China amounted to approximately **** million GT. While the number of vessels has declined considerably since 2015, the gross tonnage has roughly remained stable.
