The 2022/23 NHL season was a landmark one for sponsors. For the first time ever, players skated in jerseys emblazoned with sponsors' logos. During a September 2022 survey in the United States, one fifth of NHL fans strongly supported having a sponsor's logo on jerseys. Meanwhile, 10 percent of respondents strongly opposed this idea.
