From January to April 2022, about *** thousand platform workers were newly enrolled in the South Korean employment insurance system. Since 2020, the South Korean government has extended the employment insurance scheme to artists and special types of workers. This was further extended in 2022 to include other platform workers, such as delivery drivers and designated drivers.
