The growth of sales in predominantly non-food, non-specialized stores in the European Union remained fairly stable from 2015 to 2019. In 2020, there was a considerable negative impact on retail sales, as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In 2021, however, there was evidence of recovery, and sales grew by percent compared to the previous year.
