As the demand for passenger electric vehicles (EV) increases, the demand for the battery metals required to produce them does as well. In the second half of 2020 (H2 2020), some * metric tons of lithium carbonate equivalent was deployed in all newly sold passenger electric vehicles (EV) worldwide. By H2 2021, this amount increased to ** metric tons, representing a year-on-year demand increase of ** percent.
