According to a survey conducted among Hungarians in 2024, the majority of respondents had already used e-prescriptions, making it the most popular digital health solution in the country. At the same time, ** percent of survey participants had booked a doctor’s appointment online. 

Accessibility of healthcare services

Despite the country providing universal healthcare to its citizens, a considerable number of people face difficulties in accessing good quality health services, which is one of the primary reasons behind the importance of developing digital health solutions. Based on the results of a survey conducted among Hungarians in 2020, over half of the respondents stated that healthcare services in rural areas were very or fairly bad while only a small proportion of the population considered healthcare services in rural Hungary.

Telemedicine usage

Telemedicine refers to the practice of providing healthcare services through the use of electronic information and communication technologies. As of 2020, approximately half of the Hungarian population showed openness towards telemedicine. Moreover, between 2010 and 2020, the share of Hungarians using the web to find health-related information increased considerably as in 2020, ** percent of men and ** percent of women used the internet for this purpose.
