A survey held in the United States in the final quarter of 2021 investigating the impact of COVID-19 on newsrooms across the country found that **** percent had suffered budget cutbacks as a result of the pandemic. A further **** percent said that the coronavirus outbreak led to permanent physical changes to newsrooms, and ** percent had staff working remotely more than in person in newsrooms.
