A survey conducted among national health ministries in 2021, found that the central challenge health ministries from low-and-lower-middle-income countries had to face in accessing international funds for health and climate change work was a lack of information on opportunities, as mentioned by about ** percent of country respondents. Other barriers for obtaining international funds reported by health authorities were a lack of capacity to prepare country proposals and the absence of connection by health actors to climate change processes. According to that same study, nearly half of all health ministry respondents from low-and-lower-middle-income countries reported not receiving international funds to support their national health and climate change work.
