The figures are measured over weekly periods corresponding to the same week of the previous year. At the end and the beginning of each year, the length of the period is changed due to New Year's holidays in Russia.
The methodology was changed in February 2023 to calculate the year-over-year inflation based on the average daily increase in prices compared to the corresponding month of the previous year rather than weekly data.
