The high prices of fruits were the leading reason to limit the amount consumed in Japan, as revealed in a survey conducted in October 2025. The Japanese government recommended a daily intake of 200 grams of fruits, but **** percent of respondents did not reach the amount because the products were too expensive.Â
While Japan has wide nature-filled areas outside the metropolitan regions, the majority of its terrain is mountainous, resulting in a lack of arable land suitable for fruit cultivation.
