Financial burden of stranded assets is among the greatest challenges to the energy transition according to a global survey conducted in September 2022. Some ** percent of respondents who were investors and ** percent of the respondents who were executives from the energy sector reported financial burden of stranded assets as the main challenge to switching from a majority fossil fuel-sourced energy procurement to a renewables-focused sector. The survey base consisted of 137 decision makers from the energy sector, including oil, gas, renewables, utilities, mining and minerals.
