2010 to 2022
Curaçao was a new country that was created after the dissolution of the Dutch Antilles on October 10, 2010. Since then, Curaçao has become a new country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. With a "separate status" within the Kingdom, Curaçao is an autonomous country. Curaçao has an independent administration and is no longer dependent on the Netherlands.In the registers used by the CBS, Curaçao has only been distinguished separately since the dissolution.
Up to and including 2020: only persons born after the dissolution are considered part of this migration background.
From 2021: persons born in the former Netherlands Antilles are also included in this migration background if their place of birth is on that island.
