According to a survey conducted in Japan in January 2023, the share of women who stated that they attended modern theater performances, children's theater, or puppet shows in the past year amounted to *** percent, while *** percent of men stated the same. Attendance rates dropped significantly compared to the previous years due to the social distancing measures implemented in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
