In 2024, around *** thousand people were newly certified to be public psychologists in Japan. The exams for public psychologists were established in 2018 and are conducted by the Japan Center for Certified Public Psychologists. Successful examinees are licensed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
