In 2024, over a quarter of surveyed NHS staff had experienced harassment, bullying, or abuse at work from a patient/service user, a relative, or other members of the public in the past 12 months. For those in Ambulance Trusts, the share is much higher. Nearly ** percent of staff also reported experiencing physical violence, and again, staff within Ambulance Trusts were more likely to report such, twice as likely.
