*The respondents were asked which social media were used in their place of work. The sample includes people working in Local Health Authorities (29.7 percent), Hospitals (16.2 percent), University Hospitals (18.9 percent), Scientific Hospitalization and Care Institutes (18.9 percent) and general healthcare staff (16.2 percent).

This statistic shows the results of a survey conducted among people employed in the healthcare sector about the purposes of using social media in Italy as of 2018. According to data, most of the respondents stated that in their health facilities social media were used in order to provide information about health-related issues. Only one respondent declared that in his healthcare center social media were used to deliver online consultations.
