"The Ease of doing business index ranks countries against each other based on how the regulatory environment is conducive to business operation stronger protections of property rights. Economies with a high rank (1 to 20) have simpler and more friendly regulations for businesses."
Egypt ranked 114th out of 190 countries in the ease of doing business in 2020. Compared to nine years prior, the country's ranking dropped from the 108th position, which was the highest during the period under review, whereas Egypt experienced its lowest ranking in 2016. Economies ranking higher have regulations that are more friendly and simple directed towards businesses.
