In an attempt to reduce their carbon footprint and their consumption's impact on the planet, many Canadians are developing or reinforcing more responsible purchasing practices. Among these, the purchase of second-hand products, for example, prevents waste and over-consumption. Before the crisis, approximately in *** Quebecers said they regularly or occasionally bought second-hand products. However, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the accompanying lockdowns saw this proportion decrease by ***, reaching little more than ** percent. The opinion that global warming is primarily caused by human activity is widely shared in Canada, though it remains to be seen how the pandemic will have affected consumer buying behavior in the long-run.
