A survey in 2025 found that four in ten teenagers were unable to do their best on schoolwork because of a lack of access to period products, and a third have missed class time due to period poverty (the inability to access menstrual hygiene products). Even more teens, two-thirds, reported their schoolwork suffering due to menstrual symptoms.
