The availability of employment opportunities was the main factor driving seasonal migrants workers to Libya in 2020. This was identified as a reason to reach Libya on a seasonal basis by ** percent of the respondents. Seasonal migrant workers were also significantly driven by the lack of employment opportunities in their home country, as well as by the beginning of the agricultural season. In fact, many of them are employed in the agriculture sector, mainly performing unskilled jobs. Seasonal migrant workers are involved in circular migration, meaning that they move regularly from the home to the host country for employment purposes.
