The net revenue of the Australian beauty brand Aesop increased since 2017, going from *** billion Brazilian reals to about *** billion Brazilian reals as of 2022, when this figure reached a peak. Aesop produces several types of luxury care products, ranging from hair care to skincare, as well as homeware items, including candles.

The brand’s history

Created in 1987, the brand Aesop was sold in 2012 to one of the leading manufacturers of cosmetics and personal care products, Natura &Co, the same company that acquired beauty staple Avon International some years later. As of 2022, the Aesop brand was responsible for nearly eight percent of Natura &Co’s net revenue, but in 2023, cosmetics giant, L’Oréal, announced the acquisition of Aesop by signing a deal of over *** billion U.S. dollars.

The brand’s expansion

Aesop’s popularity keeps on rising among consumers worldwide, alongside the number of its points of sale and stores, which added up to nearly *** in 2022. In the same year, the brand also started expanding in the Chinese market, with the opening of its first store in China. However, a few years earlier, Aesop was already a favorite among Chinese skincare buyers. Currently, the brand operates in several regions and is expected to become a leader in the market of luxury beauty soon.
