The overseas sales of South Korean food producer Samyang amounted to almost billion South Korean won in 2024, showing a further increase from previous years. Samyang is the producer of Buldak Bokkeum Ramyeon, the instant noodles that gained notoriety on the internet for being very spicy. They are often consumed in online food challenges.  

South Korean food manufacturers

The South Korean food market is large, with further growth potential. In the last decade, more food manufacturers have entered the market. Despite this competitive environment, the leading processed food companies are mostly the food branches of domestic companies and conglomerates. Samyang also continued to place among the ten major food companies in the country.  

K-Food exports  

Korean food manufacturers have largely profited off the ongoing global popularity of Korean cultural content. Thanks to rising consumer interest, the export value of K-Food has increased in recent years. Some of the most exported food items were processed foods, such as the widely known instant noodles. To satisfy consumer demand, Korean instant noodles rose significantly in exports.Ìý
