An online survey carried out in January 2021 revealed that over two thirds (69 percent) of women sommeliers and wine professionals have heard of a female colleague who was harassed or discriminated against at work. Moreover, half of the women surveyed admitted to suffering this experience themselves. Nearly 80 percent of female sommeliers and wine professionals in Brazil think this sector is sexist.
