The value of the Sovereign Grant, the annual payment to the British Monarchy from the UK government, was 137.9 million British pounds for the 2026/27 financial year. Between 2016/17 and 2017/18, the Sovereign Grant increased by more than 33 million pounds, largely due to renovations to Buckingham Palace. In 2025/26, the value of the grant increased to 132.1 million pounds, in part due to a huge increase in profits from the Crown Estate.
