In order to measure the extent of inequalities in the distribution of domestic tasks between the two genders in France, the source asked French women in 2019 who was responsible for the purchase of household appliances in their households.
Yet, considering the example of vacuum cleaners, it seems that the distribution of the charge related to the purchase of household appliances is more egalitarian within households in which women women belong to the highest socio-professional categories. Indeed, about half () of women executives or with an intellectual profession were responsible for the purchase of vacuum cleaners in their households, compared to almost of women workers.
