Venezuela: students affected by COVID-19 measures 2020, by level
On March 13, 2020, a national closure of schools in Venezuela was implented in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak. As of August 1, 2020, close to seven million children and teenagers had been affected by the contingency measures in the Latin American country. Nearly 5.7 million of the students were enrolled in primary and secondary schools at the time, while close to 1.2 million were enrolled in pre-primary institutions.
