In 2017, the import volume of aluminum into Sub-Saharan Africa corresponded to *** million metric tons. Of these, the great majority was constituted by hollow profiles of aluminum alloys (*** million metric tons). Since 2008, bars, rods, profiles, and hollow profiles of aluminum alloys have been the leading aluminum forms imported into Sub-Saharan Africa, and their import volume increased annually within the period examined. On the contrary, not alloyed aluminum imports declined from 2012 onwards.
