Purchasing fixed income exchange traded fund (ETF) products was the preferred option of professional investors in China to manage periods of heightened market volatility, such as the economic crash caused by the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in . In a 2021 survey, just over half of respondents from Greater China cited this as their top strategy. This was also the top response in the United States, but only the second most popular among European investors.
