According to the source, "the data was weighted to conform to the latest available population figures from the 2012 Population and Housing census projected for 2017. The 4,797 unweighted cases corresponded to approximately 29.6 million adults aged at least 15 years in the country".
The source also adds: "Current tobacco smoking was defined as having smoked tobacco within the past 30 days either daily or occasionally. The smoked tobacco products assessed in the survey included manufactured cigarettes, hand-rolled cigarettes, kiko, cigars and shisha".
Nearly percent of the adult respondents in Tanzania smoked tobacco in 2018, which corresponded to roughly *** million people. From those, *** percent were daily smokers, while *** percent smoked only occasionally. By contrast, more than ** percent were non-smokers.
