South Korea is the country with the highest share of public support for expanding use of natural gas as a source of energy. ** percent of South Korean respondents to a 2019/2020 survey favored natural gas consumption. Of the displayed countries, Sweden and the Netherlands were the only two where support was less than ** percent. Natural gas received greater backing by the public than any other fossil fuel. By comparison, public opinion on coal power was largely negative.
