According to a 2021 survey, over 80 percent of investors believed it was important for oil and gas companies to establish emissions reduction targets. 57 percent of the respondents agreed with the importance to include net-zero targets for scope 1 and 2 emissions. By comparison, 59 percent believed that scope 3 emissions were important. This indicates a consensus among the investors to include emissions reduction targets in the oil and gas companies internal operations, energy consumption, and upstream and downstream value chain segments.
